Two Eastern European Nations – Poland & Belarus East Europe (Poland & Belarus)

A brand-new route from DeWonder Travel for 2025, taking you back to the era of World War II and the Cold War. This exclusive itinerary not only lets you ride Soviet-style minibuses to delve deep into the historical footprints of WWII, but also brings you into the daily lives of the locals, sharing meals and swapping historical tales with Polish and Belarusian families as you peer into the Eastern Europe of a bygone age.

In-depth Poland & Belarus Tour: Stepping into the Former Soviet Realm

Poland and Belarus sit side by side on the map, yet the two countries can hardly be called friendly. From World War II to the Cold War, the two nations diverged to varying degrees in their political camps and democratic movements. We will follow the timeline of history, travelling east from WWII-era Poland all the way to "Belarus," the little brother of the Soviet regime, and, along the dividing line between the Eastern and Western blocs, feel the hidden currents and power struggles of the Cold War era.

We will wander through Warsaw's Old Town, reborn from catastrophe, learning about the reconstruction process of the old district, personally entering the German air-raid shelters and underground command bunkers to sense the tense atmosphere of wartime. In the gas chambers of the Auschwitz concentration camp, we feel the cruelty of the Holocaust and restore the true face of history. Along the way we visit famous socialist-style architecture: the UFO-like "most modern bus station in Poland," ride Soviet-style minibuses to explore the old town reborn from destruction, and discover Soviet relics brimming with communist character.

This rare exclusive itinerary goes deeper into local life, using cuisine as the medium and exchange as the core to share a conversation across history and the future with the seemingly cold yet "most courageous nation." Immerse yourself in Belarus, the Eastern showcase city of the former Soviet period, surrounded by classic "Soviet-style" squares, heroes' monuments and Stalinist architecture, feeling the flavour of the Soviet era and glimpsing life during the Cold War.

Since its founding in 2014, DeWonder Travel has successfully led over a thousand travellers and study tours across the globe each year, accumulating rich experience in in-depth Eastern European travel. Our exclusively designed itineraries not only take you deep into history, but also allow you to share and connect closely with the local people.

Here's what they had to say about this journey…

Having just completed the Poland and Ukraine trip, I was able to gain a deep understanding of the local culture and history—I saw and discovered far more than I had imagined. What made it truly precious was meeting a group of like-minded fellow travellers, together sharing an unforgettable journey. Finally, I must thank our leaders Yoyo and Alison. Their thoughtful arrangements and ability to adapt on the fly to any situation were nothing short of a perfect performance. I hope I can join DeWonder Travel again soon for another in-depth trip.
