About this event

[Multiple groups filled | Bhutan direct-flight departures | Independent travel departs year-round, enquiries welcome]

The small Buddhist kingdom nestled beneath the Himalayas,
Bhutan, has long been hailed as the Happiest Country in the World. Thanks to its careful preservation of a unique culture and stunning landscapes, it once topped Lonely Planet's list of best travel destinations. When we visited Bhutan in person, we found it truly is a rare pure land on earth.

Bhutan's capital,
Thimphu, has no traffic lights, yet traffic accidents are rare. There are no cookie-cutter chain brands—only small, locally run shops. Every building uses natural local materials such as timber and stone, blending into its surroundings; the designs feature colourful paintings or auspicious Buddhist motifs, so you feel a sense of calm and Zen wherever you go.

But what moves you most in Bhutan is the simplicity and kindness of the locals. They have few material desires, are content and happy, and are always quietly considerate of others. During our hike up to
Tiger's Nest Monastery, our local guide silently carried plenty of bottled water and snacks. Along the way we even met a monk carrying a tourist who had fallen ill from the thin air, dashing swiftly down the mountain.

Of course, Bhutan has its own social and livelihood challenges, but devotion, purity and compassion remain the soul of the country. Facing real-world challenges while steadfastly guarding the peace within and the values it holds dear, touching more lives along the way—that is perhaps why Bhutan can cleanse countless souls.

Our previous Bhutan In-Depth Tour online talks have all drawn an enthusiastic response, and we hold regular sharing sessions every month. Founders Jamie and Rubio will talk about their experiences in Bhutan and the highlights of our in-depth itineraries. Anyone interested is welcome to join and chat with us about Bhutan's formula for happiness.
