Trip Overview

【Expedition Leader: Swan Hellenic】

This style of voyage dates back to the 1950s and was pioneered by Swan Hellenic. At the time, the British travel agency Swan's Tours organised a groundbreaking journey for members of the Hellenic Society, accompanied by renowned scholars, to explore the historic sites of ancient Greece. The trip was a resounding success, and Swan Hellenic went on to develop more voyages themed around cultural and intellectual exchange, inviting writers, scholars and clergy to serve as onboard lecturers, creating a unique travel style that blends scholarship with exploration.

Unlike conventional commercial cruises, Swan Hellenic has, since its founding, insisted on never repeating the same itinerary, journeying to little-known and distinctive destinations that give guests the chance to explore places most travellers have never heard of. Over time, Swan Hellenic has become renowned for its bold and inspiring itinerary design, exclusive lectures by scholars, and elegantly comfortable onboard experience. Today, after more than seventy years, it is precisely this extraordinary charm — a blend of the spirit of exploration and cultural depth — that continues to inspire and attract travellers from around the world.
