Among them, Uzbekistan has been comparatively less affected by globalisation, preserving its ancient Silk Road palaces and monasteries intact; with locals often dressed in traditional robes, travelling here feels like stepping back in time.
Turkmenistan is one of the lesser-known of the five Central Asian nations. The closed-door policy adopted since its founding president has made it far from easy for outsiders to visit, lending the country an air of boundless mystery. The gigantic fire crater in the desert, the "Gates of Hell", is a world-class wonder that many travellers flock to see. Uzbekistan, meanwhile, is renowned for its majestic and beautiful mountain scenery and its rich Persian and Ottoman imperial history and culture. Travelling through Central Asia lets you witness the enduring importance of these lands along the Silk Road from antiquity to the present, and the profound cultural fusion the Silk Road brought about. Included
- ✓Economy-class air ticket from Bangkok, Thailand to Ashgabat (including all taxes and surcharges)
- ✓Turkmenistan tourist invitation letter **if applicable to HKSAR passport holders
- ✓All local transport during the itinerary, with tour coach transfers throughout (except during free time), also including domestic flights and trains
- ✓Local hotel accommodation in a double room during the itinerary, on a half-twin-share basis per person (upgrade to a single room incurs a surcharge of HKD 6,000)
- ✓All local meals during the itinerary (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, except during free time)
- ✓Local guide accompanying the group
- ✓At least one DeWonder Travel in-depth tour leader guiding the group
- ✓Admission fees to all attractions during the itinerary (excluding free time)
- ✓A Central Asia information pack, Central Asia travel notes and related reading materials compiled by experts and the DeWonder Travel team
- ✓A stamp fee equivalent to 0.15% of the tour fee, to obtain protection under the "Travel Industry Compensation Fund" and the "Package Tour Accident Contingency Fund Scheme"

- ✕Uzbekistan visa fee (HKSAR passport holders travelling to Uzbekistan enjoy 10-day visa-free treatment) **if applicable to HKSAR passport
- ✕Round-trip airfare between your place of residence and the meeting and dispersal points
- ✕Additional personal expenses (meals during free time, food and drinks, activities outside the itinerary, and souvenirs)
- ✕Tips for the tour leader, local guides and drivers, with a minimum amount of USD 20 per day
- ✕Travel insurance
Additional Notes
- During the tour, local guides will give commentary in English, while the in-depth tour leader will guide in Cantonese. If needed, the tour leader can also provide supplementary commentary in English or Mandarin.
- If the hotels specified in the itinerary above are unable to provide accommodation, we will arrange a hotel of equivalent standard.
- Local guides may adjust the itinerary in response to circumstances on the ground. Should any part of the itinerary be unable to proceed as scheduled, our team will do our utmost to provide the best alternative arrangements.
