The climate in Central Asia varies considerably. Winters are cold and dry, summers are hot with little rain, while spring and autumn are more comfortable. Some regions have a continental climate with large temperature differences between day and night, especially in desert and mountainous areas where nights can feel cold. Travellers are advised to prepare appropriate clothing according to the season—warm garments for winter, and sun protection and moisturising products for summer.

Visa requirements vary among the Central Asian countries. Kazakhstan only requires completing an arrival form upon entry, with no special visa application needed; Turkmenistan requires a letter of invitation and a visa on arrival, which DeWonder Travel will assist travellers in arranging to ensure smooth entry. However, the local immigration authorities are currently unable to process visas for BNO and Macao SAR passports. Central Asia relies mainly on cash transactions. Travellers are advised to exchange US dollars in Hong Kong first, and can then change into local currency at the airport or city centre upon arrival. Please note that local vendors may refuse old or damaged US banknotes, so ensure your notes are in good condition when exchanging. Some local shops accept payment in US dollars, so it is advisable to carry a small amount of US dollar change for unexpected needs.

The applicability of credit cards and ATM cards varies by country. UnionPay ATM cards work only in Kazakhstan, while ATM cards on the PLUS/Cirrus networks can be used in both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. However, ATMs are relatively scarce in the cities, and not all shops accept credit card payments, so it is advisable to carry sufficient cash. In Turkmenistan, ATM cards and credit cards cannot be used, and all transactions must be paid in cash.

Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are all predominantly Islamic countries, but local women are not required to wear headscarves. Some mosques have dress requirements: both men and women need to cover their shoulders and knees, and women need to cover their hair, so it is advisable to bring a headscarf just in case. Some areas have more relaxed rules, where a jacket or hat for covering is also acceptable.

Internet conditions vary across the Central Asian countries. Turkmenistan has more internet restrictions—WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, and Instagram are all blocked, and only Google and Google Maps are accessible. Recommended local VPN apps include LetsVPN, NPV Tunnel, and VPN EXPRESS (all paid services), but VPN connections are unstable and cannot be guaranteed to work. Local communication is usually done via Skype, which does not require a VPN. Most hotels offer free Wi-Fi, but connection speeds are slow, and there is no signal along highways and in remote areas. At present, the five Central Asian countries are politically stable, with good public safety for tourism. Tourism in places like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is well developed—these are not war zones or high-risk areas. Throughout the journey, we arrange a local team familiar with the roads and languages to accompany you, and we monitor the latest safety information daily to ensure travellers' peace of mind.

Central Asia mostly communicates in Russian or local languages, and English is not widely spoken. However, we arrange an English/Chinese-speaking tour leader throughout the trip, along with local guides fluent in the local languages, to handle all communication and guiding, so you can immerse yourself in the local culture with peace of mind and without language pressure.

Because Central Asia is geographically vast, some segments require long-distance travel. However, we break the drives into sections and pair them with:

• Scenic stops along the way (such as ceramic villages, markets, or lakes)
• Daily driving is kept mainly within 3–4 hours, with comfortable private vehicles provided
• Domestic flights are used on certain stretches to ease the fatigue of travel

This itinerary is designed as a "cultural exploration" journey, with ample rest time each day and no consecutive high-intensity activities.
