FAQ

What is the climate like in Morocco?

Located in North Africa, Morocco has desert regions with large day-night temperature swings. Daytime can be hot, but temperatures drop sharply after nightfall, and it may even feel cold. We recommend bringing a windproof jacket, long-sleeved clothing, long trousers and similar items to adapt to the local weather changes and ensure a comfortable journey.

Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?

Currentlyholders of Hong Kong or Macao SAR passportscanenjoy visa-free entryinto Morocco. There is no need to apply for a visa in advance—you can enter directly.

Is it safe to travel to Morocco?

Morocco is, on the whole, a relatively safe travel destination. However, when shopping or sightseeing in crowded places such as the old city (Medina), you should always keep an eye on your personal belongings, avoid displaying valuables, and try not to go out alone at night. Some local strangers may approach you or enthusiastically offer to guide you; we recommend ignoring approaches from strangers on the street and not easily following strangers to their homes. If you need directions, it is best to ask nearby shopkeepers or hotel staff to stay safe. The alleyways within Morocco's old cities are intricate and complex, and Google Maps may not be accurate enough, so we recommend downloading the offline maps from maps.me in advance to navigate without an internet connection.

What are the dress requirements in Morocco?

Morocco is an Islamic country, but the local culture is relatively free and open, with no overly strict rules on clothing. Nonetheless, as a traveller, respecting the local culture and religious customs remains very important. Women only need to wear a headscarf when entering a mosque; at other times it is not necessary, and it does not need to fully cover the entire head—mainly just the hair. You can choose different materials, styles and colours, and use hairpins to secure the scarf so it does not slip off. When entering a mosque, women should wear long sleeves and long trousers or a long skirt, with no exposed ankles or nape; men should wear long trousers and may not wear sandals or slippers. In addition, if your itinerary includes a pool experience, you may bring a swimsuit to enjoy the hotel's pool facilities.

What is the accommodation like in the Sahara Desert?

In the Sahara Desert, travellers will stay at a luxury tented camp and experience the desert's unique charm. Large luggage will be transported to the camp by a dedicated vehicle, so travellers can go with light packing. Since the camp relies on solar power with limited voltage, you cannot use a hair dryer or bring your own electric kettle, as this may cause a power outage across the entire camp. The camp will arrange set times to provide hair dryers for use. The tents are equipped with USB sockets for charging your phone, and we recommend that travellers fully charge all camera batteries and power banks the night before to ensure the journey is not affected.

Do I need vaccinations to enter Morocco?

At present, there are no mandatory vaccination requirements for travelling to Morocco from Hong Kong or Macau, and no proof of yellow fever or other vaccinations is required. If you have any special health conditions, we recommend consulting your family doctor or a travel clinic before departure.

What currency is used in Morocco? Can I use credit cards in Morocco?

The currency used in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Large hotels, restaurants and some shops accept international credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard, but in traditional markets (Souks), old town districts or with small vendors, transactions are mostly in cash. We recommend bringing Euros for incidental expenses; upon arrival we will arrange for everyone to exchange Moroccan Dirhams at the airport or in the city for daily use.

What language is spoken in Morocco? Is it easy to communicate in English?

The official languages of Morocco are Arabic and Berber, and French is also widely used. In tourist hotspots and hotels, basic English communication poses little difficulty. However, in old town markets or remote areas, locals' English proficiency is more limited, in which case our local guides and local tour leaders will assist with basic communication.

What are the transport conditions like in Morocco?

Travel between cities is mainly by comfortable tour coaches, with journey times depending on distance and road conditions. The lanes in old town districts are narrow, and some require walking in and out; when entering the Sahara Desert, four-wheel-drive vehicles will be arranged to transfer everyone to the camp.

What are the dietary customs in Morocco? Are there options suitable for vegetarians?

Morocco is famous for its distinctive dishes such as tagine, grilled meats and couscous, with rich flavours yet natural spices. Most restaurants offer vegetarian options such as vegetable tagine and bean stews. If you have any special dietary needs, such as vegan, gluten-free or food allergies, please let us know in advance when signing up and we will help make arrangements.
Throughout the journey, we will also try our best to arrange different types of dining, adding in Western restaurants, authentic Moroccan cuisine, Chinese food and more.
