The Arctic travel season falls mainly during the Northern Hemisphere summer from June to August, with August offering the following highlights:

Butlers are on hand at any time to provide anti-seasickness support, ensuring every guest feels steady and at ease throughout the voyage.
Is the Arctic (Greenland/Iceland) very cold? What should I wear?
In August, the Arctic is at the height of summer, with temperatures usually ranging from 0°C to 10°C—milder to the senses than the deep-winter Arctic. However, as polar weather is highly changeable and the sea breeze is strong, we still recommend dressing in layers, "onion-style":
- Indoors (on board): The ship maintains a constant, heated temperature throughout, so light and comfortable casual wear (long sleeves, long trousers) and non-slip closed-toe shoes are all you need.
- Outdoors (landings/Zodiac expeditions):1. Base layer: Moisture-wicking, breathable thermal underwear (wicking away moisture is extremely important).2. Mid-layer: A warm fleece or a lightweight down jacket.3. Outer layer: A professional waterproof and windproof jacket (on most Silversea cruise voyages, a dedicated polar Parka is provided as a gift).
- Essential accessories: Waterproof and windproof trousers (a must for landings), warm thick socks, windproof gloves, a beanie, and sunglasses with very high UV protection (the sunlight reflected off polar glaciers is extremely glaring).
Do I need a visa to travel to the Arctic (Greenland/Iceland)?
Travellers holding a HKSAR passportcurrently enjoy visa-freeentry when arriving at the meeting point in Iceland. You simply need to ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure, and have your return ticket ready for immigration checks.
Note: If you hold a passport from another country (such as a BNO), we recommend consulting the relevant consulate or checking with our experts before departure.
What is the currency in the Arctic?
There is no unified official currency across the Arctic region. On board Silversea cruises, all transactions and spending are generally settled in US dollars (USD), and major credit cards are accepted. If you wish to shop freely during shore excursions (such as in the small towns of Iceland or Greenland):
- Iceland: The Icelandic króna (ISK) is used, but electronic payment is extremely widespread locally, and credit cards are accepted almost everywhere on the island.
- Greenland: The official currency is the Danish krone (DKK).
- We recommend simply carrying a moderate amount of US dollars or euros in cash for any unexpected needs.
Is internet access available on board?
Yes. As a 6-star luxury cruise, the Silversea fare typically includes basic satellite WiFi service. Although the Arctic is remote, the Silver Endeavour is equipped with advanced satellite technology, allowing you to share the wonder of the polar regions with family and friends at any time.
What are the voltage and plug types on board?
Information about the plug types and voltage specifications available on board will be provided at the pre-departure briefing, so please refer to it then.
What is a typical day on board like?
Travellers can take part in a wide range of enriching activities, including:

- Polar Plunge: Each traveller has one opportunity to take on the icy Arctic waters, experiencing an unprecedented, exhilarating thrill.
